Detroit: Become Human - Character Analysis #1 - North.
Hello, this will be the first character analysis i will post on this blog. I wanted to do north first because she is one of my favorite characters in the game and i think she is over hated. But don't you find her annoying? Don't you think shes a bad character? You may ask these questions, but read further and you may come to understand my views.
When you first meet north she is restless and angry, she has only been at Jericho for a four weeks and 'awoke'/deviated not long before that. It is natural that she would be angry, she had just awoken to a man trying to have *** with her. The only way should could get him to stop was to kill him. After she killed him she realized that this has been done to her countless times before, which she couldn't remember because her memory was continually erased. She had no way of knowing how many other clients had done this to her without her knowledge and was shocked and scared to realize what her purpose was.
When you meet her at Jericho and you ask about her past, of course she'd be upset. She'd only been 'awake' for 4 weeks. That's a lot of time to think about how humanity has screwed her over, literally.
If you hate North just because "oh, she only resorts to violence" you need to think deeper about it. She never actually hurts anyone unless she has the OK from Markus. She may be very vocal about her distrust in humanity, but it is completely justified for what has happened to her, and what she'll always have to deal with. Those thoughts and that memory of that man could've traumatized her. The fact that she ignored that and still became the strong character she was makes her one of the better characters in the game.
If the game was longer or if David Cage actually knew how to write characters, she would have been one of the best in the game. I enjoy her character for what she could have become.
